DirkJake 3Everything went still.
Jake looked into Dirk's tangerine eyes. He thought they were absolutely beautiful. Why would he want to hide something with such beauty? Jake seemed transfixed by his eyes. They were just so...he couldn't describe it. He was just speechless. Dirk, on the other hand, was just sitting there, looking back at English in complete shock. He so didn't see this coming. What English did was too fast for him to register. He wouldn't admit it, but it was a smooth move, but he was still sort of pissed at him for doing something like that.
After a moment of registering everything, the blonde snapped his shades from Jake's face, putting them on his own. He stood and muttered, "See you later, Jake." Then he headed for the door, ignoring Jake's pleas to stay and talk to him. How could he have been so stupid? How could he have let this happen? If his brother were to know, he'd be disappointed in him as he was himself.

JohnKat-Chapter 1You're name is John Egbert, and you are currently taking orders over the phone for a cake. You work with your father at his bakery, making up money and community hours for your high school. You are 18, and are almost ready to graduate, except for some community hours missing. For the first couple years of high school, you saw no need for the hours and hung out with your best bro, Dave Strider, instead.
You say goodbye to the customer after scribbling down the order and sigh. You wish you had started for your hours earlier than last ear. The bakery was mostly either way too slow to have a point in coming, or way too busy to be fun. Your dad took care of baking the cakes, and let taking the orders and icing the cakes to you. Dad wanted to let you start out with the easy stuff first, but you would rather be baking the cakes then icing them. You picked up the phone as you heard it ring again. Today seemed to be one of the busier days.
"Hello, and thank you for calling Egbert Family Bakery,
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
